Dr. D's Piano Studio Policies
Lessons are offered year round.· Students can enroll at any time if there is an opening. Withdrawal requires a 14 day notice (prorated payments until the end of the 30 day period will be charged).
Regulations during the school year (September-May)
· If the student misses her/his lesson due to teacher absence the student will receive a credit for the following month. Please inform the instructor if you prefer to make up the missed lesson.
· Missed lessons will be made up in one of the following ways:
- Make up piano lesson based on teacher and student availability or
- By adding time to the regular lesson when possible.
No credits or refunds will be issued for missed lessons, except when the city schools are closed due to inclement weather or other emergencies. Credits and refunds will be issued also in case of serious emergencies-hospitalisation, death in the family, etc. The missed lessons must be made up within 30 days from the date of the cancelled lesson.
Although I require 24 hour notice, please text or call me if you can not make the lesson. In most cases I will try to find time for a make up. No make ups will be offered if the student or the parent fail to notify me that they are coming.
· Tardiness: if the student is late for the lesson, he/she can use the remainder of the original instruction time. No refunds or time extensions will be given for late arrival.
· Students are expected to be respectful to each other and to the instructor, bring their music books to each lesson, and practice regularly between lessons. Students are encouraged to come to their lesson even if they haven’t practiced or forgot their books.
· The tuition is charged on a monthly basis and is due by the first lesson of the month. The instructor reserves his right to decline teaching lessons if the monthly payment is not made by the first lesson of the month.
· Acceptable payments: cash, check (payable to Dimitar Nikolov, $35 penalty for bad checks), Venmo, Paypal, Zelle.
The studio is closed on the following holidays during the school year and summer session
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday)
- Dec 24-Jan 1 Winter Break
Spring Break: one week break selected by the students/parents (14 day notice is required) in March or April.
Summer Period (June-August): Students/Parents can select how many lessons (if any) they want to take.
