Dr. D. is a very kind, patient, and inspiring teacher. Our son did not like to practice much, but Dr. D. went with the flow and played to his strengths, keeping his lessons something our son enjoyed. Our son made solid progress in learning songs, and most importantly, kept a positive attitude toward piano. Now, years after stopping lessons, he plays for his own enjoyment from time to time. I would recommend Dr. D to anyone.

My daughter took piano and music theory lessons with Dr. Nikolov for many years. Under his guidance her interest in music grew and widened. Dimitar Nikolov is an accomplished pianist and conductor; he is also a steady and calming hand to teach piano to young people.

I had the good fortune of studying music under the guidance of Dr. D. for about three years, at the International School of Music in Bethesda MD. Dr. D. has an incredible ability to use imagery and small stories to teach concepts of music. Dr. D. also has a sharp eye for technical adjustments, and he helped me relax my wrist and hands by showing me that the tension originated all the way in my shoulder and arm. I only wish I could have brought Dr. D. home for my practice!

Dr. D is the best!  Both my boys and I all loved lessons with Dr. D!  He's so fun with the kids and makes learning enjoyable.  And he's such a patient and enthusiastic teacher!  Anyone fortunate enough to study with Dr. D will make huge strides and also enjoy a fun and pleasant experience!

I have been the student of Dr. Dimitar Nikolov for roughly two years, and I have no problem saying he is an excellent piano teacher and musician. He knows almost everything there is to know about playing piano and is patient when he teaches to his students. His teaching methods are clear and concise. My piano skills have improved through the time I have worked with him, and I’m sure anyone else interested in playing piano will benefit greatly from his teaching.
